2024 Ford Mustang V8 Gets One More Price Adjustment Before It Goes On Sale

The V8 Mustangs are a little more expensive.

The 2024 Ford Mustang might the lone contender in the pony car coupe class as the Camaro and Challenger are both dying. Yet, despite it’s somewhat simplified engine and trim lineup, Ford saw fit to adjust the price one last time. But, it’s only partially the brand’s fault.

The price increase mostly affects the V8 versions of the new Mustang, including the Dark Horse. Pricing goes up by $1,000, bringing the GT Mustang to $44,090, the GT Premium to $48,610. The Dark Horse gets a $1,300 bump to $60,685, and the Dark Horse Premium now is $1,400 more expensive, bringing that total to $63,460. These prices all include the $1,595 destination fee.

Pricing on the some option packages have increased, too. The Dark Horse Apperance Package is now an extra $250, the handling package is $495 more expensive, and the Carbon Fiber wheels are $500 more expensive.

Ford says that the reason for the price increase, is due to the fact that the V8 Mustang qualifies for the gas guzzler tax, and demand for the V8 coupe has been stronger than expected. Will these price increases impede Mustang demand? Probably not, it’s not like you can buy a Camaro or Challenger for much longer; the Mustang is about to be the only V8, rear wheel drive performance coupe on the market. Who knows if it’ll live for another generation in its current form, anyway.

The 2024 Ford Mustang sales start this summer.
