Mercedes-Maybach is teasing a coupe concept that might debut at 2016 Monterey Car Week.

Maybach was the pinnacle of Daimler’s extensive portfolio until a couple years ago when the revival of this historical division fizzled out like a New Year’s resolution two weeks into February. The failure was hardly unexpected as many wealthy individuals had never heard of the brand nor could they afford its products, even with 4,800-month financing. A long-wheelbase Maybach 62 could be optioned past the million-dollar mark, a manicured middle finger to the economically disadvantaged affluent.

Mercedes is already preparing the next Maybach branded nameplate.

Mercedes’ new range-topping model was revealed at the 2014 LA Auto Show, but putting it in your driveway won’t come cheap. 

The Maybach nameplate is back, with the 12-cylinder Mercedes-Maybach S600, which was revealed today at the 2014 LA Auto Show.

Daimler just unveiled its new ultra luxury sedan and by now you probably know it’s called the Mercedes-Maybach S600.

Mercedes will officially debut its new ultra luxury sub-brand next week in conjunction with the L.A. Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz is reviving the Maybach badge for the new S-Class, though it may spread to more vehicles in the Benz lineup. 

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class sits above almost all others when it comes to luxury cars, but the new Pullman edition will be second to none. 

Daimler’s ultra-luxury Maybach brand might have been killed off last year, but we could see a return of the nameplate as soon as this year.

Rumored last year, Mercedes-Benz plans to use the Maybach nameplate for a range-topping S-Class long-wheelbase model.

Everybody loves talking about millennials but nobody does anything about them. Roughly speaking, this demographic encompasses young – and not-so-young – folks born in the early 1980s to about 2000. With birth years spanning two decades, this is a huge group of very diverse people.

Despite Maybach being a thing of the past, Daimler believes that the platform for its new Mercedes-Benz S-Class can fill a void the ultra-luxury brand left behind.
