SRT’s only product – the Viper – is getting a middle-of-the-road value bundle meant to improve performance.

It appears that a track-focused Viper ACR is under development for the new fourth-generation car and could debut sometime next year.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the 2013 SRT Viper is almost certain to be offered as a convertible. Despite that, SRT brand boss Ralph Gilles is still playing coy.

At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Chrysler’s new SRT performance brand expanded its “Core SRT” vehicle strategy by adding new models to its lineup with the Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core and the Chrysler 300 SRT8 Core.

Chrysler’s exclusive attitude about which dealers will be allowed to sell the SRT Viper doesn’t seem to have thinned the lineup for certification much. In fact, the roster is almost full.

Dodge just announced that it will offer the “Redline” package previously restricted to the V6 Challenger in its R/T V8 model.

Chrysler has announced that it has no plans to sell the SRT Viper in Europe, including in Europe where parent-company Fiat resides. 

The new 2013 Viper from SRT marks the return of the snake after a two-year hiatus, and the very first production Viper rolled off the assembly line on December 5, 2013 at the brand’s Conner Avenue Assembly Plant.

Chrysler made headlines with its “Imported from Detroit” tagline, and to our surprise, the cars are also exported… to Japan.
