Chevy Tru 140S, Code 130R First Look – Video: 2012 Detroit Auto Show

Along with the new Sonic RS hot hatch, Chevy unveiled two surprising new concept cars at the Detroit Auto Show. Complete with awkward concept car names the two vehicles certainly don’t look awkward – or at least the Tru 140S doesn’t. As for the Code 130R, it brings some American muscle car styling to the compact coupe segment.

Perhaps most surprising is the platform and engines that these two youth-targeted sports cars share. To find out more, watch AutoGuide’s First Look video of the Tru 140S and Code 130R below.

Connie says:

I like the effot on Chevy’s part, but I wish the Code didn’t look so much like a squished Camaro. I feel like I’d rather save up for the real Camaro.

theirishlion says:

I like what GM is doing, and I am 30 so they’re marketing well. I’ve been interested in the GMC Granite for a while now if it comes out like the concept, but this new Chevy True 140S is sweet! Decisions decisions.. Don’t change the concepts and you’ll be fine GM!

Brian H says:

GM WTF!!!! Front wheel drive!!! Took you long enough to get rid of FWD on Cadillacs, now you plague these two hopeful designs with it???
I gotta thank you on the same token, it helps my justify my purchase of my ’96 Impala SS!!!

John Smith says:

Cobalt’s too small; Malibu is too big; the 130 is just right. (except the price)

Bent Spark Plug says:

the 130R is REAR WHEEL Drive you Goose !

Put the 140 Body on the 130R platform V6 it and BINGO you have a World wide sucess.

Botaktem says:

The tru 140s has an astonishing look ! Amazing… makes me remeber a renault megane rs, the scirocco, and some italian exotics too… With all do respect, only a fool won’t put in on the market… I would buy one if I have the chance to!
