Recent spy photos of the 2014 MINI Cooper revealed the added length that will be tacked onto the car when it is unveiled to us, and now is has been reported that the MINI will sport a five-door variant.

The front doors on the MINI will be smaller to accommodate the new added rears, which will stretch all the way to over the rear fender. While not comfortable for a full-sized adult, the doors are said to be a result of customers asking for more passenger space for their children. When the car initially launches, it will do so with three variants, the regular-three door coupe, a coupe S performance model and the five-door.

The new MINI will be powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, with roughly 120 hp in the base Cooper and 180 hp in the Cooper S. There is no word on whether the company will offer the four-door version as an S model.
