Hot on the heels of Kim Kardashian buying Kanye West a $750,000 custom Lamborghini Aventador, a new study s revealing what folks living in America’s wealthiest zip codes choose to drive, but the picks might surprise you.

Every car on the list except the most expensive cost less than $35,000 with the priciest being the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which the average owner spent $48,068 on, which is a 6.4 percent discount from its MSRP. Other than that, cars like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Lexus RX crossover rounded up the top luxury picks except for the BMW X5, which took 10th place.

Instead of flashy excess, it seems like value is very much in vogue among most of America’s well-heeled citizens.

“For affluent buyers who live in places where environmental concerns reign supreme, the Toyota Prius is the ultimate status symbol in eco-luxury,” said Kristen Andersson, Senior Analyst at TrueCar.com, which conducted the study. “The data demonstrates, that wealthy consumers of today make value a top priority as half the vehicles purchased are from mainstream brands including Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen that offer the best in vehicle amenities and comfort that near those of some luxury models.”

In Volkswagen’s case, the Jetta made the list over the larger, more luxurious Passat to slot in at number six on the list. Meanwhile, mundane staples like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord made the list despite being associated by many with middle class commuter hell.
