Following a stoppage of delivery on 2013 M5, M6 and M6 Convertible vehicles, BMW has now issued an official recall for all three, over oil pump issues.

A manufacturing process error at the plant caused the tolerance of the oil pump’s drive shaft and rotor to not meet standard specifications. Because of this, the driveshaft can separate from the rotor, causing complete engine failure.

The recall affects 696 units, and is scheduled to begin this month. For more information, owners can contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417.
