As chosen by you, the readers and fans, AutoGuide.com is pleased to announce that the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado has been chosen as our Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year.

“Polling AutoGuide.com readers, as well as the over 30 million members on the over 400 automotive forums that make up the AutoGuide.com forum network, the Reader’s Choice Awards are about letting consumers pick their favorite new vehicles,” said AutoGuide.com Editorial Director Colum Wood.

The Silverado’s win is one of five Reader’s Choice awards taken by a General Motors vehicle. All new for 2014, the Silverado received a handsome new look and a new trio of high-tech engines along with an all-new interior that is a vast improvement over the previous model. On top of that, fuel economy way made a priority on the all new Chevy truck giving it a 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway rating on 4×4 models.

“Those brawny looks flow into the interior, with the design of the dash and center console adding a robustness to the cabin that should please every truck guy,” wrote AutoGuide.com News Editor and Truck specialist Stephen Elmer.

The Silverado beat out the Ram 1500 and the new 2014 Toyota Tundra to take home the award.

“I’m excited at the response this year, from AutoGuide readers and from our vast forum community,” Wood continued. “Social media also played a bigger roll than ever in encouraging interaction, resulting in three times as many responses for this year’s awards poll.”
