The 2014 Ford Focus has, once again, received top marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) when it comes to safety.

The 2014 Ford Focus sedan, hatchback and the electric version all earn five-star overall vehicle scores in NHTSA’s new car assessment program.

Ford’s AdvanceTrac electronic stability control system along with front and side airbags helped the Focus earn its top marks. The driver’s airbag also gets some interesting tech in the form of a curve-shaped tether system that helps to lessen the impact of the airbag on the driver in a collision.
