The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has put the 2014 Hyundai Veloster through its set of crash tests, and the small Hyundai did quite well.

It scored five out of five stars, the highest possible rating that NHTSA gives out. This is the first time that the Veloster has been rated using NHTSA’s latest crash test standards, which have been made stricter.

In the individual tests, the Veloster scored four stars in front and rollover crash tests, and five stars in the side crash test. The Veloster joins the Elantra, Elantra GT, Genesis, Genesis Coupe, Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport and Sonata on the list of five-star rated Hyundai models.
