Utility vehicles were primarily the most popularly searched vehicles in AutoGuide.com’s new cars section this week.

Subaru’s cute ute XV Crosstrek offers drivers added ground clearance over the Impreza compact it’s based on. Most recently, the brand introduced a hybrid version rated at an average 31 mpg. Nissan’s Rogue – new for the 2014 model year – looks like a scaled-down Pathfinder and comes with an optional third row of seats.

Jeep’s Grand Cherokee SUV also made this week’s list. Customers can have a wide variety of engines including a base 3.6-liter V6, a 3.0-liter diesel V6 or even a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. Finally, there’s the 6.4-liter Hemi-powered SRT model, which is really more of a high-riding sports car than an SUV.

Back to the mainstream, the Ford Escape also made the list. Customers can have it with a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine as well as 1.6- and 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged options.

Finally, Honda’s ever-popular Accord was also a on this week’s list. A wide variety of powertrain options gives the Accord versatility. For 2014, Honda introduced it with a new hybrid model that vastly outperforms the company’s previous hybrids. The majority are sold with a four-cylinder engine while a V6 is also available.
