Porsche 918 Spyder Has Bugatti-Beating Acceleration

The Porsche 918 Spyder could be the quickest accelerating car in the world.

In recent testing conducted by Car & Driver, the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder went 0-60 in just 2.2 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. According to the publication, the 918 Spyder also ran the quarter mile in 9.8 seconds and is the quickest-accelerating production car it has ever tested.

Built from the ground up to be a revolutionary supercar, the Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine cranking 608 hp connected to a pair of electric motors for a combined system output of 887 hp.
