Toyota Proves Hydrogen Fuel is Bullsh*t… Literally

Toyota is out to prove that hydrogen fuel can be made from bullshit.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have been at the center of controversy, with Tesla CEO Elon Musk going so far as saying that they’re “extremely silly.” Toyota, one of the first on the market with its Mirai, is out to prove that hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are not only sustainable, but that hydrogen fuel can be made from renewable sources. What better way to do that than to launch a marketing campaign that pokes fun at how people are calling hydrogen fuel cell vehicles “bullsh*t.”

The first online video is part of a series “Fueled by Everything” that is aimed to educate a broad audience on hydrogen fuel and vehicles powered by the resource. The first video is titled “Fueled by Bullsh*t” and was directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock.

As you can tell by the title of the video, Toyota literally took cow manure and manufactured hydrogen that worked on its 2016 Mirai. The brand points out that hydrogen can be manufactured from various other renewable energy sources including solar, wind and biogas from landfills. The 2016 Toyota Mirai will go on sale in California later this year.

“This project gave us the opportunity to dive into a world that most people don’t understand but has the potential to change our world,” said Spurlock. “Witnessing manure, something most of us view as being pretty disposable, being transformed into hydrogen fuel to power a car was pretty remarkable. I think this short film is pretty compelling evidence of what could be possible in the years ahead.”

    Wait, where does steam and heat coming from...? That's right, you need energy to produce steam and heat! Wait, you need to transport TONS of shit into some GIANT fields, then collect methane gas, then transport it to another facility... then steam and heat it up to get hydrogen... hum... yeah. And what does your transportation need to move tons of shit around? That's right, you need energy to move those trucks as well... This is totally retarded, you may as well run the methane directly to generate electricity. Or how about, setup a dozen of solar panel, and every morning you wake up and then you get magical electricity directly from the sun???

      None of the conversion is efficient dude, every step of conversion you lose energy because we haven't discover any methods of 100% energy conversion. If anything, the recent news on using GMO microbes to produce bio fuel from CO2 would be more viable than producing hydrogen.
