2017 Genesis G90 Puts Mercedes and BMW on Notice
Hyundai’s new standalone luxury brand, Genesis, has revealed its first car, the G90.
Called the EQ900 in Korean, the Genesis G90 is the brand’s flagship model, looking to compete with the best luxury cars on the market. A new design gives the G90 a fresh look which marks a clear departure from the Hyundai Equus, the G90’s predecessor.
A host of technological features have been incorporated in the new G90, including advanced smart cruise control, lane keep assist and adaptive dampers, part of the Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension system. Two of the most advanced features, highway driving assistance and a clinically-tested seating system that adjusts the seat, steering-wheel, outside mirror and head-up display to the optimal position for your body, are only available in the Korean market.
Safety technology is also packed into the G90, which makes use of automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot detection, a driver attention alert system, automatic smart high beams and an around view camera.

Under the hood, three gasoline powerplants are available: a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, a 3.8-liter V6 or a 5.0-liter V8. The weakest of the three, the 3.8-liter, puts out 310 horsepower while the new new twin-turbo V6 makes 364 hp. Finally, the top-end V8 makes 419 hp and can get the G90 up to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. The same sprint is achieved in 6.9 seconds with the naturally aspirated engine and 6.2 seconds with the turbo.
All the engines are hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear-wheels, though all-wheel drive is available with the G90.
Inside, a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen sits in the center console to display infotainment, while music is heard through the Lexicon Sound System, which features Clari-fi software which can help to restore details lost in compressed audio files, making all music sound hi-fi. Wireless cell phone charging and three automatic climate control zones are also fitted in the new G90.
The new Genesis G90 is expected to land in the U.S. as a 2017 model.

Looks terrific. Wonder what it will cost?
Just picked up my G90 V8 a month ago.....LUV-IT. Replaced my Audi A8L. All the bells and whistles W/remote start via phone, for 12k less The only thing I don't like about it is that w/remote start operated the cars 4w flashers operate, until you get in and put the car in gear. Telling would be thieves "ok here i am running and ready." PLUS if you unlock the car after remote starting and forget to take the key (fob) with you, the car will still operate as normal....with a msg on the dash "Key Not In Car." How I found this out was last week I drove the wife to the shopping center, thank God I noticed the msg before I shut the car off..
