Fast and Furiosa: Charlize Theron Joins Cast of Fast 8
Charlize Theron will star in the upcoming Fast 8 movie.
Although details on her role are currently vague, Theron is expected to play a villain of sorts and, reportedly, Universal approached her early for the role, but since the script was still being written, Theron did not want to commit until a finished draft was completed.
Theron is no stranger to sharing the big screen with cars, having starred in the recent Mad Max: Fury Road as Imperator Furiosa.

Fast 8 will be the first full feature without star Paul Walker, who passed away in a tragic car crash in November 2013. Production for the next entry in the franchise will begin this summer and has a planned release date of April 14, 2017. Returning stars include Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez, while F. Gary Gray will take over directing with Neil Moritz and Diesel producing.
