2018 Volkswagen CC Spied Testing With Aggressive Styling

The next-generation Volkswagen CC has been spied testing near the automaker’s facility at the Nurburgring.

Up front, the spy photos reveal dual LED headlights for the four-door coupe, similar to those that debuted on the Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It also appears that the overall profile will be lower, wider and longer than its predecessor, while the sloped roofline will be retained.

Rumor has it that the new Volkswagen CC will adopt a fastback style rather than a conventional truck, but unfortunately, it’s hard to see if that’s the case with all the camouflage on the prototype. There is, however, an outline in the rear area that suggests it will have a liftgate rather than a normal trunk.

The 2018 Volkswagen CC is expected to make its debut sometime next year as a 2018 model and will be built on the same MQB platform that underpins the Volkswagen Passat. Expect it to share powertrain with the Passat as a result, and a wagon version is rumored to also be in development.

Should be an amazing automobile, looking forward.

So is this model year going to have an open recall for Tekata airbags like the older models? I'd love to buy a used 2014 model, but it seems like they've been recalled for the deadly airbag issue, and VW has not done anything to resolve it on individual cars yet. Every car being offered for sale has the recall with no resolution.
