Alfa Romeo‘s return to the North American market got off to a rocky start with the 4C, but now the Giulia sedan has arrived along with the Stelvio crossover. Our review of the Giulia Quadrifoglio was the 10th most popular for the year, as shoppers and enthusiasts were curious to see if the sports sedan truly lives up to the hype after claiming a Nurburgring record at the time of its introduction.
Considering the Subaru Outback is the brand’s best-selling model, it’s little surprise it lands on our top 10 list of most popular reviews of 2017. The somewhat unique offering is like a wagon on stilts, and having received a refreshed for 2018, shoppers were interested to see all has changed. Along with a more rugged appearance, the interior has received premium touches along with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
One of the most highly anticipated vehicles of the year, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R finally reached North American shores. Sporting a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, you can’t help but wonder if the Civic Type R lives up to its hype being front-wheel drive and all. And the verdict? Well, let’s just say we came away impressed.
Does Hyundai‘s luxury brand, Genesis, really have what it takes to compete with the popular BMW 3 Series? The Korean automaker introduced its new G70 this year looking to compete in the already crowded luxury segment. With a sporty appearance and a luxurious interior, the big question is whether the G70 can hold its own on the road against models that have decades of history.
Volkswagen is on a long ride to win back the trust of consumers after its massive diesel scandal. One of those steps is offering a three-row SUV, an extremely important model for the North American market. Just one look at the Atlas and it’s clear the Atlas was made specifically for the U.S., and the German automaker is further boosting its image by building it at its plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. But is it a worthy competitor in a segment that’s growing at a rapid pace?
The Kia Stinger made a surprising debut to kick off the year at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show and it didn’t take very long for the hype train to leave the station. The Korean brand mostly known for affordable cars and hamsters had suddenly grown up with a true sports sedan competitor, one that checked off nearly every box of wants and needs. So does it live up to the lofty expectations set by the media? Does it drive as good as it looks? We think so.

The Toyota C-HR had an interesting history before it event went on sale. The funky crossover started its life as an offering for the Scion brand but it never even went on sale before Toyota decided to kill off Scion. Now it sits in Toyota’s lineup, as a youth-oriented crossover with odd styling, much like the Nissan Juke. But now the compact crossover segment is getting much more crowded, with new additions such as the Hyundai Kona heading to dealers.
