Expanding on it’s 500 family, Fiat teased the 500X, a small crossover designed to take on the Nissan Juke during an event meant to launch its new 500L.

In what could be one of the shortest-lived previews we’ve ever seen, the brand revealed the car, backlit by glaring stage lights, only to shutter the display seconds after they dimmed. Nevertheless, we see a car based on the 500L, but with boosted ride height and chunkier body panels, like we reported earlier in the week.

As the fifth edition to the Fiat line, the 500X will probably come with a 1.4-liter four cylinder to the U.S. market, though official details are still unclear. That won’t be the only version of the car sold in the North American market either because Fiat-Chrysler plans to base a new Jeep compact crossover on it as well.
