Volvo debuted the S60 Polestar last month strictly as a concept vehicle, but discussions are underway at the Swedish automaker regarding whether or not to put the car into production.

The managing director of Volvo UK, Nick Connor, said that the company is “in serious discussion with Polestar to try and make the S60 a reality.”

Volvo powers the car with a 3.0-liter, straight-six, that Polestar tunes up to 508-hp and 424 lb-ft of torque, thanks to the addition of a turbocharger.

If the S60 Polestar makes it to production, it will be a very limited run, and you can expect the car to cost somewhere above $100,000. The one-off concept car sold for $300,000.

Making the sprint to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, the Volve S60 Polestar will surely give the BMW M3 some solid competition.
