Lexus is aiming to boost its hybrid lineup sales in North America above its currently level of around 10 percent. As a result, expect plenty more hybrid offerings from the Japanese automaker in the near future.

Globally, Lexus hybrid sales hover around 20 percent of its total sales, though in Japan it’s an astounding 80 percent. This year alone, the luxury automaker added a hybrid variant to its popular ES lineup, as well as giving the new LS an F Sport variant for its hybrid model.

Interestingly, Lexus is looking to leverage its F Sport line to help promote hybrid sales, believing that American consumers still prefer performance over mpg. The Japanese automaker is currently offering F Sport options on its LS, GS, CT, and RX hybrid models.
