Mercedes-Benz just announced that its future cars will use a Garmin GPS navigation system, much like the one currently used in Chrysler products.

Over the next four years, the Garmin system will infiltrate Mercedes’ global lineup, starting in select 2014 models. It will be fully integrated into Mercedes current COMAND infotainment system, and offer map data, turn-by-turn directions, and information that is needed for Mercedes’ Advanced Driver Assistance technology.

Garmin will be providing GPS info, though the the hardware powering the GPS is still a Mercedes-Benz unit. The systems functions will all be controllable using the existing Mercedes setup of either a single rotary dial or voice commands.
