GM Automatic Transmission Recall Hits 9 Nameplates
General Motors has announced a new recall that affects a lot of nameplates, and just a few vehicles.
The company is recalling 355 vehicles that are equipped with automatic transmissions, as the shift cable can disengage from the shift lever, which means that the gear won’t be able to change, and the indicated gear may not be correct.
If the disconnect happens while driving, shifting the lever into park will not actually engage park, and may cause the vehicle to roll away if the driver exits. If it occurs while the vehicle is parked, drivers will not be able to shift into drive.

The affected vehicles are the Buick Enclave, LaCrosse, Regal and Verano, along with the Chevrolet Cruze, Impala, Malibu and Traverse. From GMC, the Acadia is also being recalled, and every single vehicle in question is from the 2014 model year.
The recall is expected to begin this month. Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace any problematic shift cables, free of charge.
