Sometimes it takes a look to the past to see just how far we’ve come. That’s why we’re testing a 2015 model year vehicle against its 2016 counterpart this week.

“This week it’s time to pit the brand new 2016 Mazda MX-5 up against a vehicle people can’t stop comparing it to – the 2015 MX-5. In fact, I’m not just going to put it up against one, but two different versions of last year’s Miata. How will it fare?”

2016 Nissan Maxima and 2015 Hyundai Genesis SedanJodi Lai, Managing Editor:

Jodi is testing two full-sized sedans this week, and will see how AutoGuide.com’s Car of the Year, the Hyundai Genesis, will look compared to the all-new Maxima. With 300 hp and a fuel efficient CVT, the Maxima sounds like it has the engineering cred to take on the Korean sedan, but don’t forget, the Hyundai has a few tricks of its own.
