Small cars can be luxurious, and the same can be said for pickup trucks.

True, the GMC Canyon is far from compact, but the new mid-size pickup is a size down from the popular half-tons. Now it has also gained the premium Denali badge, and everything that goes with it.

That means for 2017 the Canyon Denali will be available with a custom chrome grille and unique 20-inch aluminum wheels with painted accents. Other highlights include chrome fog lamp bezels, rectangular chrome side steps, a spray-in bed liner and a polished exhaust tip. Six different color options will be available.

Inside the truck gets perforated black leather-appointed seats with heated and ventilated functions up front. Plus there’s unique trim on the dash, with Denali-logo sill plates and floor mats.

Luxury also means technology, and the Canyon Denali will come with standard forward collision alert and lane departure warning, as well as an eight-inch touch screen with navigation and integration for Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, as well as a remote starter, three USB charge ports, automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel and 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Canyon Denali will be available in crew cab configuration for two and four-wheel drive models. A 3.6-liter gasoline V6 is standard with an available 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel.

Making its debut this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the GMC Canyon Denali will go on sale in late 2016.

What a beautiful truck. I can see myself getting this one day if shopping for a mid-size pick-up truck. I like the fact that it is luxurious too.
