The news headlines you see on AutoGuide.com are often very different from the ones we have in mind.

We use a message board-type instant messenger (Slack, if you’re curious) to keep ourselves organized throughout the day. This is where our editors sort through the day’s news and suggest headlines for stories we’re going to cover. But the AutoGuide.com editors can be a salty bunch sometimes and I have to edit their headlines and be the fun police because we’re not Jalopnik. Here are the best rejected headlines from this year and the stories they were supposed to go with (because it’s the end of the year and we all need a laugh):
