What happens when an all-electric SUV takes on an Italian exotic?

DragTimes recently went to Palm Beach International Raceway to find out how the Tesla Model S P100D and Model X P100D stacks up against the Lamborghini Aventador SV and the results might surprise you. We already know just how fast the Model S P100D and Model X P100D are down the quarter mile, but it really puts things into perspective when they line up against a world-class exotic like the Lamborghini Aventador SV.

According to DragTimes, the Lamborghini Aventador SV owner is also a Tesla owner, and wanted to setup a race between the Aventador SV and a Model S P100D to see how they compare. To make things extra interesting, they brought along a Model X P100D in hopes of setting a new world record for the world’s quickest production SUV. Unfortunately, the Model X took too long to charge to 100 percent, so the runs were down at 78 percent. Still, the SUV turned in an impressive time of 11.41 @ 117.95 mph, making it the world’s quickest production SUV. The site plans on heading back to the track in a couple weeks with at least a 90-percent charge with the expectations of running 11.1 in the quarter mile.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV doesn’t disappoint though, with its best run coming in at 11.04 @ 129.75 mph. Too bad all of that is slow compared to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon…
