Imports were the most researched this week in AutoGuide.com’s new car buying section, with Toyota taking three of the spots.

Utilitarian vehicles were more popular than any with the Toyota RAV4 and Tacoma being number one and two. The RAV4 gets a new look and features this year while the Tacoma remains in the dwindling small pickup truck segment.

The Hyundai Tucson was also popularly searched and sits on the verge of a redesign as was previewed in the European market ix35 during the Geneva Motor Show.

Also present at Geneva, the FT-86 Open Concept previewed what many hope the Scion FR-S’ future to include: a convertible variant. Demand for the FR-S is strong, as evidenced by its rank in AutoGuide’s new car section, and a convertible version would almost certainly be a hit too. As shown in Switzerland, the car comes with considerably more premium interior trim. The car would have to come at a premium over the coupe and it isn’t clear if that will fit into Scion’s brand strategy. Keep your fingers crossed.

Finally, the Fiat 500 is still gathering traction in North America. The brand’s North American offerings continue to grow, and the 500 Abarth is replaced by the cabriolet version for limited production.
