The Renegade is what we refer to as the gateway Jeep. It’s the entry point into the Jeep brand and although it is a subcompact SUV, it has many Jeep-like traits built in. The boxy shape, tall upright windshield, and short overhangs give it a familiar family profile.

Kia’s Telluride in a few short years went from unknown quantity to segment standout. The stylish three-row SUV has been a star in a competitive class and recently received a significant refresh. One of the biggest standouts about the boxy Telluride has been the vehicle’s stylish looks inside and out. With the recent refresh, it’s just as true as ever, even if the cool rectangular amber daytime running lights are now gone.

The Lamborghini Urus is the brand’s second foray into the world of SUVs. But unlike the company’s first effort, this is a sporty SUV and not a hardcore off-roader. With 640+ horsepower under the hood, the Uras has all the equipment necessary to hold its own with sports car at the track.

The mid-size Land Rover Discovery is a bit different than most luxury SUVs. The regal utility vehicle is wholly capable off-road, while still treating passengers in utmost comfort. Currently, a choice of two turbocharged engines are available, a four-cylinder and a six-cylinder hybrid. 

The Discovery Sport is Land Rover’s entry point into the lineup. Like every regular Land Rover, the Discovery Sport can be had with a third row of seats, although space back there is tight. A single drivetrain is currently offered; a turbocharged four-cylinder paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The flagship Range Rover is one of the most luxurious SUVs on sale. It treats passengers to the finest materials and technology inside, all while offering a smooth ride and fantastic isolation. A choice of engines are available, including a plug-in hybrid. For added choice, it can be had in two wheelbase lengths. 

The Range Rover Evoque is the entry level model in Land Rover’s upscale sub-brand. The compact SUV is more about luxury and style rather than off-road prowess. It competes against the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Lexus NX.

Choice is the name of the game as there’s a Lexus NX for nearly everyone. Folks looking for a gasoline propelled unit have their choice between naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-cylinders. If a hybrid is required, there are two of those as well. One a traditional hybrid and the other of the plug-in variety.

The Lexus UX is a subcompact SUV. As the entry point into the luxury brand, Lexus keeps things simple. The UX only comes with a single drivetrain, a four-cylinder hybrid that makes 181 hp. It can can be paired with either front- or all-wheel drive. 

The Lincoln Aviator is the brand’s other three-row SUV. Slightly smaller than the Navigator, the Aviator is built on a rear-wheel drive platform shared with the Ford Explorer. Of course, the Lincoln wears unique sheet metal and offers far more premium materials inside. It can be had with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. 

The mid-size Lincoln Nautilus is currently available with a pair of turbocharged engines. Entry level models use a 250 hp 2.0-liter engine while higher trims have a more powerful 335 hp 2.7-liter unit. Regardless which engine is chosen, both vehicles offer a premium interior and comfortable driving experience. 

The Eletre will shock a lot of Lotus faithful. Not only is this the brand’s first SUV, but it is an all electric one as well. Rest assured, the Eletre is all about performance and is designed to hold its own on the track. Power comes from a set of electric motors that makes anywhere from just over 600 hp to in excess of 900 hp. 

The Grecale joins the Maserati lineup as the brand’s second SUV. Smaller than the Levante, the Grecale is no less performance orientated. There’s upwards of 523 hp on tap from a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Easily identifiable as a Maserati, the SUV has a classic design on the exterior. 

The Levante was the first SUV introduced by Maserati. Focusing on sport as much as utility, the Levante can have upwards of 572 hp from a 3.8-liter turbocharged V8. Of course, it makes fantastic noises, just as any proper Maserati should. It’s also very luxurious inside, coddling passengers in both rows of seats. 

The CX-9 is Mazda’s aging, large, three-row SUV. Arguably one of the most stylish mainstream three-row SUVs inside and out, despite being on the market for awhile it is still a very competitive offering. The CX-9 was ahead of the curve as well by offering a turbocharged four-cylinder as its only powertrain option. 

The GLA is Mercedes-Benz’ smallest SUV. The subcompact utility vehicle is the entry point to the brand, so it’s very important for the manufacturer. With decent levels of interior space, the GLA can be had with front- or all-wheel drive. 

The compact Mercedes-Benz GLB offers something most of its competitors do not – a third row of seats. Obviously, the back most row is the domain of small children, but having that option is a big plus for many. Two basic versions of the GLB are available, a regular model and an AMG.
